Objectives

Photo-detectors represent one of the most important industrial technologies. They are used in all types of electro-optical applications, such as opening the automatic doors, elevators , TV's, communications, laser printers,Video,PC's, CCD Cameras and thermal imaging cameras. For this particular reason, it was necessary to spread out the culture of this technology and to discover the latest aspects and development in this vital area. Photodetectors technology has evolved dramatically and this in turn was reflected positively on their applications. Within the development of nanotechnology, photo-detectors took an important part in research focusing on Nanowire photodetectors and their applications. This Symposium will highlight some new trends of photodetectors technology and the applications.
