Department of Architecture is proceeding within a vision, mission and goals of academic institution committed to academic programs that looking forward to architectural education with innovative techniques and mechanisms for the construction of new Iraqi urban reality to put the foundation for expected educational results from the graduate architect through making the most of the available opportunities on the educational process aspect to achieve the specialization goal- Architecture- looking to establish a comprehensive and fundamental basics where all dimensions of intellectual, methodology and applied knowledge are shown in the basic lessons in which the architectural design is the first. This knowledge achieved by using the latest technologies, education and design methodologies. Hence we inspire our vision in interpreting the scientific sobriety responsibility in order to find out the implementation plans of scientific specialization policy.

Science and scientific sobriety

It is inevitable that science is the prominent feature in the government interests considering education on the priority of its programs and policy. This concept is the solution to the society's problems used as a crucial weapon to change the reality and prepare for the future by setting a strong foundation's vision to prepare a person who is able to cope with the technology developments if this human potentials operated optimally through the consideration of educational sobriety both in under and postgraduate studies. Educational policy specifies scientific sobriety principles to achieve the possible according to a specific method so as to ensure the harmonization and integration between the goals of education, various society activities and its institutions to complete the one aim compatibility of educational efforts with other community activities to meet the requirements (It is an indication of the educational policy efficiency) and the amendment of path activities as another aim (it is an indication of the educational policy effect in society institutions and facilities) this is reflected in the level of this educational institution graduate through dealing with the educational principle policy represented by directing educational system towards the graduate through the  improvement of his character   In a balanced and integrated way depending on personal improvement efforts to acquire accurate skills, developing his mind and ability to create, so as to achieve efficiency in meeting the needs and increasing requirements to achieve the most impact towards society advancement through the rapid strides in adopting E-learning built programs of Co-operative Education programs, self-education vocabulary, Electronic performance support systems and learning management systems.

Specialization Role  In Educational Policy, In Light Of Interim Development 

Sciences development and scientific facts Level at educational process requires knowledgeable variety in the curriculum and visions accompanying with the inevitability in increasing educational capacity with their experimental applications which is hence difficult to execute by the adoption of only a single-field specialization.

Accordingly, the multiplicity and diversity   of  functional specialization are the perfect and flexible way to implicate the diversity of the growing needs of information both in quantity and quality through academic programs concerning the levels of student's study and movement within the institution through these steps: the preparation of architects who are familiar with knowledge of modern, the adaptation of those techniques to develop applied technology aspects of design and the educational process, provide scientific and physical environment, including the virtual environment that allows students to access the specific sciences with multiple specializations to serve professional practice and the labor market, the adoption of a specific language through architectural vocabulary adequate with natural, climatic, economic and social environment to achieve functional, aesthetic and technical performing balance .
We are looking forward to the architects  graduation who  are aware of  their  responsibilities and work within a  teamwork spirit - educationally, administratively and organizationally through the exchange of scientific, cultural and social knowledge of the relationship development between the various staffs who are  working at the department.The need for specialization is widening, according to its social and institutional environment requirements, so as to ensure the most benefit  of what the quality of the disciplines needed by the educational institution identity, enriching assessment methods through extensive fields in the labor market, according to the proportions of graduates (and students)  workers inside and outside the country in architecture field  or as academic staff  through focusing on understanding output knowledge which begins with design along with the design curriculum  and theories of architecture through their  various intellectual  ideologies and  the collocation between the idea of  structural design architect, along with values, practices and ethics of the profession in addition  to the laws and regulations of construction to make the building adaptable and compatible with human life and multiple patterns related  to  our needs within the framework of strengthening the Iraqi identity in our department. Our department plan is making a professional and academic  harmony with governmental  institutions and other  relevant authorities  through the implementation of scientific specialization policy which enriched us with the  ability to absorb the learning and teaching methods by self-directed education , education that is based on the group interaction in solving problems.

To achieve  this positive effect within a teamwork and positive discussion based on acknowledgement according to subspecialties through equal educational opportunities by linking education to institutions development plans by achieving  the most  investment of available human resources by developing them according to the educational policy efficiently and effectively in order to meet the needs that will include professional degrees in the future within the department plan .This is the main reason behind  the ongoing expansion of the department through branches and research units.

Finally, the academic and administrative staff  in the  department will do their best   towards enhancing the scientific sobriety  requirements and through proper representation of the various specialties compatibly  with the expectations  of  current and future needs of our society to enhance Iraqis  identity. The main purpose is  seeking the pleasure of Allah, serving our country and the students in this department.
