Technology organizes a scientific visit for the students to Ahdab oil field

within its scientific activities and based on the principle of scientific communication between academic institutions and scientific field work, Oil Technology department at the University of Technology organized a visit for the students of the second stage and accompanied by the teaching staff Prof. Imad Abdul Hussein and Prof. Doaa Saleh Ali Anwar, in cooperation with the Midland Oil Company / Ahdab to Wasit province Ahdab oil field on Wednesday, 19/11/2014.

The visit program included going to two work sites belong to Ahdab field operations where visiting to the tower site (101), a site of oil drilling . the most important parts of the site, the tower components, and ongoing operations at the site done by Fields Division official assist chef eng. Imad Ajel and Senior Engineer Ahmed Majid, a number of Chinese engineers belonging to the Chinese company invested the field were explained, the students were briefed on wells oblique drilling technique being of modern drilling methods in Iraq because of its economic benefits, as well as to resolve some of the problems associated with drilling operations.

After that, the central unit insulation site of the operations department was visited, where under the supervision of the Operations Division responsible Eng. Naji Abboud, assistant director Ahmed Abdul explained oil collection operations in all producing wells in Ahdab and directed to the insulators to isolate the water, gas and impurities and also touched on the stages of the insulation in detail in addition to the field viewing of insulators down to connect the oil export lines to the province of Basra and nearby refineries. Supervising staff has shown great cooperation with the department by answering Questions of students, the thing that increases their knowledge of the field work.
