The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Hussain
al-Shahristani accompanied by the President of the University of
Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer al-Tamimi attended on Sunday,
November 9th , 2014 a funeral ceremony of the Martyr student Ali
Mohammed Jassim, who was a second year student at building and
construction department / University of Technology. The student died on
Saturday evening, November 8th 2014 because of a car bomb explosion in
Al-Sinaa Street near the University of Technology.
His Excellency ,the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
said ,while attending the mourning which was held by the Department of
Building and Construction Engineering in the presence of the head of the
department Prof. Dr. Riad al-Anbari and a number of heads of departments
, professors of the university and the department and the students: "I
want to share with you this unfortunate incident but I am confident that
it will not frustrate your determination in going on in your studies
with determination and insistence and achieving success ,this is the
loyalty for the martyr student " because the aim of terrorism is to stop
the wheel of progress and development."
Al-Shahristani added that the sacrifices of the students are part of the
sacrifices of the Iraqi people and the convoys of martyrs offered by the
Iraqis are only a beacon for the future generations, stressing that the
victories achieved by our courageous army in the battles against
terrorism are the best proof of the extent of the determination of the
Iraqis to defeat these organizations.
Al-Shahristani directed ,during his meeting with the students, faculty
members to facilitate student affairs and taking into account the
exceptional circumstances they are facing, as well as encouraging them
to excel in the study to be an example among other students .
Al-Shahristani presented condolences to educational family and students
for the martyrdom of the student Ali Jassim Mohammed, Prayed God to be
in paradise now and to inspire his family patience and fortitude.
His excellency added that my presence here is to reassure the health of
wounded students at the university because of the terrorist incident
that make us lose one of our dear and outstanding students. I have found
that the students are full of insistence and determination to continue
the path of diligence, excellence and success, and this should be the
answer of every Iraqi, and his response to the terrorist attacks . Those
students will continue their studies and excel , succeed and build
everything destroyed by these terrorists, and will take revenge for the
blood of the innocent martyrs who were killed in these terrorist
operations and other operations, adding that their brothers from the
armed forces and volunteers in the popular crowd are destroying the
places of ISIS terrorists in all fronts of fighting now and declaring
the news of victory for all Iraqis, so this will be the reply in the
fighting fronts in revenge for the blood of our martyrs.
The students of the department lit candles then read Al-Fatihah in the
memory of the spirit of the martyr.
The President of the University Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer presented
his condolences to the educational family and students at the university
for the loss of one of the students by his martyrdom in the terrorist
incident asking God to inspire his family patience and fortitude,
wishing healing for the wounded students at the university.
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research visited
department of dormitories departments for female students which is
located at the University of Technology to reassure the students and see
the minor damages due to the terrorist bombing near the University of
Technology in Al-Sanaa Street, which killed “ according to the police
report” three martyrs and wounded 10 people, including two students from
the University of Technology who passed during the moment of explosion
and are in hospital now . Those students are Hussein Nuri Mohammed and
Mohammed Jalil Rashid .
It was mentioned that the Martyr has participated in the University of
Technology funeral procession on Saturday morning on November 8th , 2014
in Karbala on the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, "peace be
upon him," but he martyred in the evening of the same day.
