PetroIraq competition first season was held by
the cooperation of SPE chapters from University of Baghdad and
University of Technology in the attendance of the president of the
University of Technology. The goal of this competition is to create a
communication opportunity between Iraqi petroleum students, to develop
their performance, and to share knowledge between each other.
The two competing teams consisted of four students. A committee of three
professors, kindly volunteered to prepare the questions. The committee
was: Dr. Mohammed S. Al-Jawad (Head of petroleum Technology Department -
UOT) , Dr. Nada S. Al-Zubaidi (Head of Petroleum Engineering Department
- UOB) and Dr. Sameera Mohammad Hamd-Allah.
There were sixteen questions for each team, the questions that were
asked in the competition included several topics in the petroleum
engineering (i.g. drilling engineering, reservoir engineering,
production engineering, and reservoir management and so on).
Both of the teams worked hard together, cleverly, quickly and
confidently to win the competition. But at the end of the competition,
the results were equal, both teams scored thirteen correct answers and
three false answers. Both departments were awarded the PetroIraq 2015
prize. Contribution certificates were awarded to all of the competing
students as well.
