A delegation from British Council headed by the
director of English language projects, Mr. Shems Harkin, and the
director of higher studies projects in British Council/Iraq, Ms. Mariam
Midhat, on thru. May, 28th 2015. The president of university of
technology,Dr. Ameen Dawai, the vice president for scientific affairs,
Dr. Wisam Kadhim, the vice president for administrative affairs,Dr.Sami
Abo Al noon, and the manager of the English language center,Dr. Najam
Abd Alkadhim, have welcomed the delegation. The president of university
of technology showed his desire to cooperate with the British council to
develop the usage of English language.
Mr. Shems Harkin presents a detailed explanation about a proposal which
the British Council may give to the University of Technology that
includes a cooperation memorandum to implement the British Council Learn
English Connect.
The manager of the English Language Center said that this program is a
blended learning program which combines students' regular
classroom-based language lessons with online supplementary study
materials which will be supported completely by the teachers both from
the university and the council. On learn English connect the students
will learn and practice new language, develop their reading, writing and
listening skills and become more confident to use the language they
know. It will also develop their ability to study English independently
on a self-access basis via computer and other digital methods. At the
end of the program, the students will receive a British Council
certificate with details of their English level based on the Common
European Framework for Language Reference |
