The technology hold a lecture about environmental contaminants and cancer risk
Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology held a lecture about environmental pollutants and cancer risk given by Dr. Azhar Mahmood Halim in the presence of the Center Director Prof.Dr. Abdul- Hameed Mohammed Jawad, a number of teachers and employees of the center in the blue hall.
The lecture dealt with the medical term of cancer where it is called on more than a hundred illness involved in the uncontrolled growth of the cells that suffered from a change in the genetic material in an opposite turned from normal cells into cancerous cells.
She noted that there is a close relationship between the imbalance environmental components,water, air and soil and ratios of cancer as air pollutants and of Ultra-violet as well as radon and all forms of asbestos and synthetic rubber and heavy items in the water and other factors also found that there is a relationship between occupational exposure of pollutants and infection rate , so international organizations and agencies sought to put a precise definition of carcinogens and classified in groups to make its studyeasier and monitor their levels in different environments to reduce the rates infection with thisgravis (Dreaded) disease.
