Lecturer from university of technology innovate the way in the use of sensors for mobile robot to detect trees

Dr.Nagam Daoud Jamil Shalal from the Department of control and systems engineering at the University of Technology innovated a new way to use accurate sensors for mobile robot which are (camera and laser scanner) to detect of fruit trees and distinguished all the other stuff in the garden.
This innovation included in scientific research that published in the International Journal (Computers and Electronics in Agriculture) with the impact factor (1.892) under the title: (use Android mobile robot and sensors data its own (camera and laser scanner) to distinguish and detect of trees which existed in Orchards

The researcher showed that it has been recognized the edge tree first, by using Lazier scanner data and calculate the width of the trunk of the tree then determine how certain points of the statements of Lazier scanner to images The camera is to select which parts of the image on the edges of the tree trunk and for the purpose of disclosureall edges and color of the tree trunk and comparing with the edges and colors of other objects in the garden through a series of precise stages.
The proposed method was applied in practice by many in situ experiments to assess performance and accuracy were Obtained for this method are 96.6%
