Lecturers from the Department of Materials Engineering at the University of Technology Dr. Jawad Kazem and Prof. Dr. Rana Afif Majeed and L. Sara Abdul-Zahra Mohsen of the Department of Materials Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of Babylon, patented by the Central Agency for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning No. 4755 on 11.23.2016 for "manufacturing overlapping materials Biologic alternatives metallic materials recoverable corrosion in Implant"
The main patent manufactures overlapping material and other graded functionally metal pure titanium hydroxyl apatite ceramic with biocompatibility biggest as an alternative for bolts which used in Implant to reduce the corrosion problem occurring between the titanium screw and pillar of the bond between the screw and tooth ceramic. In one block, and other material were overlapped manufacturing are five graded layers in the structure of pure titanium (first class) to Hydroxyl pure Apatite (fifth layer) to be graded in the functions and homogeneous in composition as powder metallurgy manner.
It used several techniques to diagnose the prepared materials, including X-ray diffraction and electron microscope imaging scanner and energy dispersive spectroscopy.
