A Thesis in Building and Construction Engineering Department discuss a new method to measure the stability of paved layers

A thesis from Building and Construction Engineering Department at University of Technology discussed a new method for measuring the stability of paved layers for the student Huda Basim Flaih in the debate, which was held on Monday, 02/20/2017 at the Hall in the department.
The study focused on the development of located packing to use a basis for measuring the stability of mixtures asphalt without the need for extra equipments by supplying the device with cell to measure loading that allows measuring the difference in power at the top of the model surface during compaction, and this development was to improve the design mixture to simulate the located packing and thus Super Pave system developed the aggregate graduation to include thick paving through observation and restricted zone according to the percentage that passed specific sieves
It has been studied the production of mixtures asphalt by using two different sources of aggregates, different gradations of aggregates, and different ratios of asphalt content and the use of axial packing device to compact the samples. Where the axial packing device produces curves of density through which is determined by volumetric properties of mixtures.
The most important results of this study were the relationship between the energy needed for packing coefficient of bearing California CBR of calculated energy from the load cell.
