A student from the Department of Building & Constructions Engineering obtains a master's degree about the circular tubular steel columns filled with concrete

The student, Anmar Hamad Kadhim, received a Master's degree with a very good degree from the Department of Building & Construction Engineering at the University of Technology for his thesis entitled "Scientific Research of Rounded Steel Tubular Columns and Filled with Concrete containing Recycled Concrete Ruins" in the symposium held at the High studies Hall's of the Department.
The discussion committee was consisted of prof. Dr. Iqbal Naeem from the Department of Building Engineering at the University of Technology as Chairman of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Hussein Khalaf of the Faculty of Engineering at Mustansiriya University and Dr.. Basman Riyadh members Dr.Amar Abbas and Dr. Wael Shawky supervisors, all from the Department of Building Engineering at the University of Technology.
This paper presents a practical study of the behavior of circular tubular steel columns filled with concrete containing recycled rubble. For the purpose of increasing the homogeneity of the concrete mixture used and to avoid the isolation problems of the fill concrete, concrete was used for the iron pipe.
The results showed that the use of high-resistance recycled concrete aggregates gives compressive strength to the columns higher than the usual concrete rubble. The use of steel collars as an external arm of the columns increases the compression resistance, but the process of welding the iron bands with the steel pipes and the required distances between the hoops is very difficult.
