 The English Language Center at the University of Technology held an English speaking event for the second season, which aims to encourage and support students, teachers and teachers to speak in English in the presence of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Amin Douai Thamer and the Vice President for Scientific Affairs Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan Attieh and a number of department heads Engineering and Teaching and University students, which were held at the Canadian Department of Electromechanical Engineering.
The forum was opened by reciting any of the Holy Quran and then reciting Surah Al-Fatiha to honor the souls of the martyrs and to play the national anthem.
The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer expressed his thanks and appreciation for the Center's efforts and support to keep pace with the cultural and linguistic development and interest in establishing the effectiveness of speaking in English and for the second year after the uniqueness of the event last year, which aims to improve and develop the level of public speaking and fluent, as well as courses held by the Center for graduates The university and to the students who reap its benefits by praising the foreign companies for the level of graduates of the university of technology and interacting with the outside world to what is happening in developed countries.
He added that many organizations, countries, embassies and companies have welcomed this cultural approach, which allows communication to those interested in English such as the British Council.
The Director of the English Language Center Dr. Mona Abdel Hussein, said that the center is considered one of the university's centers of excellence in providing innovative courses and examinations for the English language skills of university students and students in particular, as well as private and public employees in general. He pointed out that the Center seeks to develop its scientific and practical capabilities in the field of English with the direct support of the University.
The jury consisted of Prof. Abdullah Al Hassan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Diaa Mezher, Head of English Language Department, Faculty of Education Ibn Rushd for Human Sciences, University of Baghdad, Prof. Dr. Walid Khalaf, Department of Applied Sciences, University of Baghdad. Prof. Abdul-Karim Fadel Jameel, Department of English Language, Faculty of Education Ibn Rushd, Prof. Dr. M. Al-Khatib, Environmental Research Center, University of Technology, Dr. Majid Ne'ma.
The 10 contestants who were nominated by the competent supervisory committee in interviews and conducted a number of training units presented video presentations that included cultural, scientific and social topics that dealt with an idea, a public issue, a project, invention, motivational speech or a moral or moral lesson in English to break the barrier. In conclusion, the winners and the participants in the awards were honored in support of their efforts and activities outside the curriculum with the graduation of chemical engineering student Ibrahim Kazem as the title of the event for the current season. The winner of the title last year and the first of its kind is a proper hula.
