Based on the directives of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Amin Douai Thamer on the need to expedite the completion of scientific promotion of the faculty members at the University of Technology within the specified time and accurately in the implementation of instructions and controls.

A team was set up under the supervision and continuous follow-up by the Vice Chancellor for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies. Alaa Abdel-Hassan Attieh, Chairman of the Scientific Committee for Scientific Promotion. Mohammed Jassim Kazem design and implement a program specialized in storing all information and data and follow up the promotion transactions and display the data needed by the Committee and contribute to the speed of decision-making required.

The president of the university committee for scientific promotion  said that the program is characterized by the ease of data entry, retrieval and update and follow up the deal out of promotion from the date of submission through all stages and the date of completion. The program also includes follow-up procedures of the arbitrators and determine the time period for each arbitrator and until receipt of the answer, which facilitates the process of sending confirmation to the arbitrator when the answer is delayed.

It also includes the printing of university orders and congratulations on upgrading the completed transactions and printing the books of transmission to the referees and the confirmation and return easily.

He added that the program also has the ability to create all the statistical tables with promotion transactions, indicating the position of the transactions completed and sending or demanding additional research and returned and sent outside the university and the transactions of special grades and transactions of the specialties outside the terms of reference of the University separately and for any period of time, Detailed in the final position of the promotion transactions and for any period of time and according to the scientific title, the scientific sections and the minutes of the meetings.

The Department of Construction and Construction Engineering at the University of Technology held a condolence meeting on the spirit of the former head of the Department of Construction and Construction Engineering at the University of Technology, Dr. Namir Khorshid Said, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, 12 February 2017 in the hall of Prof. Dr. Hussein Mohammed in the department. President of the University for Administrative Affairs Dr. Sami Abu Al-Nun and a number of heads of scientific and engineering departments and university professors and employees.

The deceased had passed away on Thursday February 9, 2017 in Australia and wished the President of the University and all those present to his people patience and solace, calling on the Almighty to dwell in their lives.

The late professor graduated from Baghdad High School in 1968 to enroll as a student in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Baghdad and in 1972 received a bachelor's degree with honors and received a master's degree in highway engineering. He joined the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manchester in England and received his doctorate in geotechnical engineering in 1980. Upon his return to Iraq he joined the Department of Building Engineering at the University of Technology.

He was appointed head of the Roads and Bridges Branch in the Department and then head of the Construction and Construction Department at the University of Technology until 2012 and has been assigned cultural attachés in Australia and New Zealand since 2013.

In the course of many years of work in engineering and postgraduate studies, he has 82 students in his hands to obtain master's and doctorate degrees and has dozens of researches published in national and international scientific journals and conferences. The late scholar and editor of several national and international journals. He received 5 patents.

Prof. Nemir Khorshid received many awards during his career including: First Professor in the Department of Construction and Engineering Construction for the years 1997-1998, 1998-1999 and 1999-2000, and the First Professor Award at the University of Technology for the academic year 2000 – 2001

The Department  Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology Grant a Master's degree with a very good grade in the specialization of Mechatronics for the student Ali Hadi Saeed for his thesis entitled:

(Robust PI-PD Controller for Antilock Braking System)

(Integrative proportional control - for the differential and sober differential of the ABS system)

In the discussion that took place in the Conference Room of the Section

The discussion committee consisted of the following: Abbas Hussein Issa as President Moaid Abdul Rida, owner and d. Ahmed Ibrahim Abdel Karim Members & Hazem Ibrahim Ali supervisor.

The Dominant sober( proportional Integral- proportional differential), four-factor study was designed based on Kharitonov's theorem.

The molecular amplification optimization method was also used to tone control coefficients to achieve the required durability specification with variable system parameters and in accordance with the proposed cost factor for the ABS. The proposed cost function included time response specifications, frequency status specifications and control signal specifications.

The control was used by the model response because the system is non-linear as it has more than one working point and contains uncertain coefficients. To ensure stability in the stability, Kharitonov's theory was used. Three types of methods were used in the control test: dry asphalt, gravel and snow road.

The Department of Petroleum Technology at the University of Technology  grant  a  Master degree  to  the student Amir Taleb Hameed with a grade of excellence for his thesis tagged geostatistics study in the distribution of the petro physical characteristics of the  Al -musherf  layer    in the field of Nasiriyah on Thursday 2/2/2017.

The committee was moderated by Prof. Mohammed Saleh Al-Jawad from  the University of Technology and Dr. Hussein Ali Baqer of Baghdad University and Dr. Medhat Aliwi Nasser of Baghdad University. Abdul Ali Abdul Hussein of the Ministry of Oil and Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Ramadan of the University of Technology as a supervisors.

(The researcher concluded that the study focused on the application of the methods of( Geostatistics) of  al-mushrf  layer in the field of Nasiriyah for the purpose of distributing the petro physical characteristics after the knowledge of the rock types in the stratum and the necessary data were used and the first eight wells for the purpose of constriction  the geological model.

The probes were interpreted using( Interactive PetrophysicsV3.5). The interpretation process in this work begins by correcting the sensors and then learning about the (Shale Volume). A layer of Shale up to 10 meters in the center of the al –mushref  layer.

The Department of Engineering of Control and Systems at the University of Technology awarded the Master Degree in Engineering Engineering with a good grade of student Akram Hashim Hameed for his thesis:

(Improving the robustness of the adaptive control model using modulation techniques to control the speed of the three-phase induction motor)

In the discussion that took place in the discussion room of the Section

The discussion committee consisted of Dr. Ali Hussein Ahmed as President, Dr. Ibrahim Qassem Ibrahim and Dr. Ahmed Alaa Akla

Members Amjad Jalil Hamidi as a member and supervisor The student proposed to address the deficiencies in the validity of the adaptive control of the reference model which results from the existence of uncertain variables and disorders and then propose modification techniques that work on the adaptation law to determine the adaptive controlling factors to be within certain limits that can not be exceeded. Dead zone modification. Modified ∂ modification Edit e modification

Modulation of the projector modification In this work (mrac) was used to control the speed of a three-phase inductive motor in the squirrel cage based on indirect field guidance in such machines. Unconfirmed transactions and disturbances resulting from change of torque on the motor are the effectiveness of the proposed techniques And their effect on durability (mrac) was analyzed using simulation by (matlab / simulink). The student presented a summary of his findings and conclusions with suggestions for future work

The discussion was attended by a number of heads of branches in the department and a group of professors and graduate students
