The Department of Production Engineering and Minerals at the University of Technology held an educational workshop on how to write a CV, as part of the activities of the graduate follow-up unit in the department.

The seminar was attended by the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdel-Hassan, the Head of the Department, Assist.Prof.Dr. Ahmed Ali Akbar, the scientific assistant Prof. Dr. Ali Abar Khalif, and a number of professors and students.

The lecture was given by Assist.Prof.Dr Haitham Razzouqi on the correct steps to write a CV with the definition of the most important paragraphs to be known in writing CV for graduate students or students wishing to apply for fellowship or mission outside the country.

A delegation from the chemical engineering department at the university of technology headed by the head of department Asst.Prof.Dr. Jammal Al-Rubeai ,Administrative deputy Asst.Prof.Dr. Walaa Abdul-Hadi and Dr.Qusay Fadhil and head of chemical engineering and oil refinery branch Asst.Prof.Dr.Talib Naef have visited the university of Al-Mostaqbal collage/Babil on Dec., 2, 2017.

The head of department said that the goal of this visit is to make joint researches in addition to hold an engineering education conference in cooperation with engineers syndicate.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Safana Rafat, a lecturer at system and control engineering department in the university of technology jointly with the researcher Hussein Adnan form Al-Hussein private collage in Karbala published a scientific research in scientific and technology journal titled ( Robust controller analysis and design of medical haptic control system).

The researcher here determines haptic interfaces for medical simulation that proved to be especially useful for training in minimally invasive procedures.  In this research, a framework that consists of relevant representation of operator and a dynamic environment of a tele-mainipulated hapic system is implemented. The uncertain model of the operator and environment studying the influence on the aspects of stability and performance. H∞ framework loop shaping robust controller designed is applied, then the stability and performance analysis is investigated.

The obtained value of the gab 0.1112 for the controller 9.755 and 10-4 for the slave parts of the hapic system which indicate improved robustness of stability and performance as compared with the obtained values from parametric robust controllers design..

 The Laboratories Manager at the Materials Engineering Department in the University of Technology, Dr. Jamal Jalal, and the Rehabilitation and Employment
 Division received an official delegation from China.The meeting included consultation and discussions to find an appropriate mechanism for joint cooperation
 between the university and the company as well as providing job opportunities for the students of the department in the company or training them, the
 delegation also be acquainted with the department labs.

 The graduate and follow-up unit in the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Technology in cooperation with Zain Telecom holds a workshop entitled 
"Adapting to the Work Environment"in the presence of the continuing students and graduates in the department.The workshop aimed at clarifying the modern
 mechanisms and methods in dealing with the working environment and the methodsof dealing with the managers of the work and the employees. This workshop is part 
of workshops that will be hold by the graduate follow-up unit in the department.
