Technology open the Third International Conference of Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology 

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the direct supervision of the Presidency of the University of Technology, the University opened the activities of the Third International Conference of Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology, which will be held for two days, 22-23/11/2023, at Computer Engineering Department.

The conference was attended by the University President, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, and the heads of scientific departments, university lecturers, and employees of many ministries and scientific institutions, in addition to the researchers.

The President University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, gave a speech in which he praised the great efforts of Oil and Gas Engineering Department for the organization and scientific research performance, stressing the necessity of research publishing in international institutions, hoping that the conference would come up with Implementable recommendations of clear implications of Oil and Gas basics due to their great importance to the country.

the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kahdim, during his speech, emphasized the important role in the participation of many researchers at the local, Arab and international levels in this vital field, which represents the main field in the country, as (59) research was accepted out of (77) research that was evaluated by (325) researchers from Different countries of the world, thanking and appreciating to the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, for his continued support of the department and all the supportive brothers from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and its institutions, the Al-Sabt Center - the Holy Shrine of Hussein, the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, Al-Salam University College, Al-Kitab University, Scientific and Preparatory committees of the the conference and all members of the department.

The opening began with a research session chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohammed Attiya Al-Sarraj and his rapporteur, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdul Kadhim Al-Rubaie, which included a lecture of revolutionizing the oil and gas industry: comprehensive integration of artificial intelligence, delivered by Prof. Dr. Yousif Khalaf Yousif.

 The second lecture is given by Assist. Prof. Lect. Salam Jabbar Hussein, which was about the study of evaluating the quality of education in petroleum engineering departments in Iraqi universities in terms of international accreditation standards.

The conference concluded with the presentation of the Conference Chairman, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kadhim presented the conference shield to the University President Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghabban, while the University President distributed the conference shields to the Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kadhim and Chairman of the opening session of the conference, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Atiya Al-Sarraj, the session’s rapporteur, Prof. Dr. Najm Abdel-Kadhim Al-Rubaie, and researchers Assist. Prof. Dr. Yousif Khalaf Yousif and Assist. Prof. Dr. Salam Jabbar Hussein, and to the parties supporting the conference, Prof. Dr. Sattar Badrakhan - representative of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, representatives of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, Al-Sabt Center for Publishing and Scientific Research, the Iraqi Engineers Syndicate, Al-Salam College the private University, and Al-Kitab Private University, then all researchers went to the Oil and Gas Engineering Department to complete the research sessions for the first day of the conference.
