The Computer Engineering Department inaugurated the Networks Lab with the support of Al-Aswar Company for General Trading and Commercial Agencies on Thursday morning, 28/11/2019 in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim J. Kazim instead of the President of the University of Technology, Dr. Ehab N. Abbas, Director General of, Planning and Follow-up Studies at the Ministry of Higher Education , Dr. Abdul S. , Prof. Dr. Hassan J. Hassan Head of Computer Engineering Department,Furthermore many department heads, professors and representatives of Aswar Company.

The opening of the lab included a number of speeches by Prof. Ibrahim J.Kazim on the President of the University, Dr. Ehab N. Abbas, Representative of the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Hassan J.Hassan, Head of Computer Engineering Department and a speech by the representative of Aswar Company.

Aswar is working in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to launch several free training programs to raise the level of graduates to cope with the requirements of the modern labor market, as it initiated to  build a number of scientific laboratories in public universities, He stressed.

The lecturer, Dr. Ahmed S.Karim from the Department of Computer Engineering, present a video about the work of the devices provided in the new laboratory which enhance the practical side of the study as well as the theoretical study of Aswar Company.

The company has several future projects, including the project of surveillance cameras for the University of Baghdad , the project of optical cable , training and graduation of more than 1200 students to qualify for a global certificate and allow them to participate in advanced practical tests, The representative of Aswar Company said.

At the end of, the University Shield was distributed to the representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education and the Director of Aswar Company.

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology held a scientific lecture entitled (doping and food supplements) at Dar Al-Salam hall on Tuesday, 26/11/2019, in the presence of scientific assistant head of the department response on work   Prof.Dr. Adnan Abdul Jabbar Abdul Razzaq and members of the teaching staff and a number of members of the Department and the University.

The lecture was given by Prof.Dr. Mudhaffar Abdullah Shafiq / President of the Iraqi Federation of Sports Medicine / specialty of joints and bones, where he explained how to use steroids and how useful and dangerous to athletes.

At the end of the seminar, certificates of appreciation were distributed by the scientific assistant in charge of conducting the work of the department for the records and the preparatory committee, appreciating the efforts of the lecturers.

Amal A.Ibrahim obtained a master's degree for her thesis ” Applications of magic squares in geometric combinatorics" in Applied Mathematics.

The discussion committee concluded of D. Saad Naji Ali / Applied Mathematics as Chairman of the Committee and Dr. Areej Musab Abdel-Daim / Mathematics , M. Sama Fouad Ibrahim / specialization encryption as members and Dr. Shatha Asad Salman / specialization geometric combinatorics as supervisor.

The aim of the work is to study the magic square together with magic cubes and its applications in geometric combinatorics. Some methods for constructing magic square and magic cubes are given.

A Proof for an open problem that ʺ2-way transportation polytopes is Hamiltonian graph ʺis introduced.

An answer for the question that ʺif it is possible to constructing 33 magic square of square with different integers ʺ, is proved, the proof of this theorem was in two phases, by using the Gauss theorem.

A another theorem for magic square that refer if there is possibility to generate 3×3 semi magic square using positive cubed integer is introduced.

Application for magic square is given with an algorithm for constructing magic square which is water retention application using magic square.

The Department of Laser Engineering and Optical Electronics at the University of Technology held a scientific symposium tagged (very short pulsed lasers and their applications) on Sunday 24/11/2019 at the graduate hall in the Department of Laser Engineering and Optical Electronics.

Prof. Khaled Salem Shabib, Head of the Department, delivered a speech during which he explained the axes of the symposium, including the concept and technology of research in very short pulsed lasers, the axis of modern applications in the industrial and medical fields and the axis of methods of generating short and very short pulses in optical fiber lasers.

The symposium included three lectures, the first entitled (the study of the impact of ultra-short laser pulses in the operation of materials) delivered by Prof. Dr. Kadhim Abd Habter  teaching in the section during which dealt with the types of interactions between the pulses of ultra-short laser with various materials, whether metal or semiconductor Dielectric where these reactions are classified into two non-thermal types and reactions that lead to alteration of the precise structure and rapid phase shift.

The second entitled (scientific research and laser technology with short pulses) delivered by Prof.Dr. Ahmad Jiad Kazem reviewed the developments in the field of manufacturing and applications of very short pulsed lasers and the possibilities of scientific research available at the department and the university as well as the presentation of important areas that contribute to the promotion of research on very short pulsed lasers.

And the third on (generation of short and very short pulses in fiber laser) delivered by lec. Heba Hassan Abdullah was introduced the concept of laser fiber laser and its components and stage of development and advantages of its use of low maintenance cost and long life and high efficiency and types of composition and how to generate pulses using certain techniques and the concept of generation Short and very short pulses are clarified.
