In order to enable Iraqi women and strengthen their position in society and under the slogan (Iraqi women, symbols of sacrificing and tender), the university of technology set up a special celebration on the occasion of International Women's Day on Thursday, 03/10/2016 in the university theater hall.

The University President, Prof. Dr. Amin Doui Thamer attended the ceremonial and also the Assistant Rector for Administrative Affairs Dr. Sami AbuNun and the heads of academic departments, centers and departments of the University.

The celebration started with the playing of the national anthem and reading the Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, then the President of the university presented the university word and then the screening of a documentary film about  the women achievements at the university, the ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the perfect women candidates by the president of University (for academic staff) and Assistant Rector Administrative Affairs (for university personal) and the heads of academic departments (for students).

The petroleum technology department has nominated Dr. Samaher Abdul Rasul to represent the academic staff for the perfect women and Mrs.  Hanan Abbas Mazal for affiliated and Ms. Ream Jaber Mnhr for students, for the purpose of honoring in this occasion and wishing them continued success and tender.
