A geological Scientific Visit to the Tar Caves Area

Within the department scientific activities on university day, the petroleum technology department organized a geological scientific visit for the second stage students to the caves of Tar area which is located south of Razaza within the administrative border of the province of Karbala on Monday, 04/04/2016. This visit comes as part of the training program prepared for skills development process of our students and improving their level of science through the application of what has been studied for the subjects of the general geology and structural and petroleum geology.

The program has included a detailed explanation of the nature of the geology of the area and geological configurations unfolding on the surface and then the students were divided into groups having been described the geological sections that have been identified by the faculty and picking up the rocky samples and also have been training the students on how to use the tools and geological field equipment.

The students have been accompanied by a number of the department staff (Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Ramadan, Dr. Hussein Alaibee, Mrs. Hiba Tariq, Mr. Mohammed AbdulRedha, Ms. Salé Nazir and Ms. Shahnaz Basim).

The Department Scientific Deputy, Dr. Ahmed Abdullah has praised the heroic security forces from Karbala police department, which has provided protection in the workplace, as well as facilitating the students passing in affiliate checkpoints where they were coordinating with the Karbala police department by the governor of Karbala and the follow-up office by Mr. Mayor of the  holy city of Karbala, Dr. Hussein Jawad Ahmed Almncoche
