Under the recommendation of His Excellency the Minister of high education and research and sponsored by the University of Technology, a delegation participate from the University of Technology (head of petroleum technology department /Ass. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar, Dr. Rmazi Sehud Hamid , Dr.Raad Mohammed Jawad  ) in the Conference Getenergy for Iraqi Oil and gas 2011, which was held in Dubai for the period from 5-6/12 / 2011.

All international oil companies operating in Iraq participated in the conference  and also the academic institutions which interested in developing and training the workforce such as (B.P., Shell, Schlumberger, Lockoil, Petrochania, British Council).

 On the sidelines of the conference was the exhibition's opening for the scientific product in terms the University of Technology submitted scientific posters included the role of the university in feeding the oil sector with high engineering expert. In a related development all the participating delegations praised the role of Iraqi universities, which always seeks for the advancement and keep up with scientific developments

Where the head of oil technology opened the conference with a speech, which made it clear plan of the Ministry of High Education and Scientific Research to the preparation and training of competent manpower to the oil and gas on the near and in the medium term to meet the needs of industry of Iraq's oil fields, particularly oil and gas industry.
