Petroleum Technology Department signed a Memorandum of Understanding of Joint Scientific Cooperation with the Iraqi South Oil Company

Under the recognition  of the President of the University of Technology (Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir) the Petroleum Technology Department signed a memorandum of understanding of joint scientific cooperation with SOC. The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs (Dr. Mohammed Yahya al-Ani) has attended the meeting.

This memorandum comes to consolidate the scientific and practical relationship between the two parties and make future prospects to serve the oil industry in the country. It’s worth to mention that the memorandum comprised several topics including the promotion of scientific training of students in the preliminary study and future collaboration in the field of postgraduate studies and scientific research, seminars and joint conferences between the parties. The President of the University expresses the willingness of the University of Technology to fully cooperate with South Oil Company in all fields of science. On the other hand the head of petroleum technology department (Ass. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar) said that the signing of this memorandum will open new areas in the field of introducing modern technology to the oil and gas industry, which represents the backbone of the Iraqi economy. The president of South Oil Company (Dr. Lutfi Yassin Abdullah) declared that his company is fully prepared to cooperate with the University of Technology to serve the Iraqi oil industry.
