Scientific symposium about the curriculum in petroleum technology department

        Within the beginning of scientific season for the first semester, the students of petroleum technology organized scientific symposium under the title: the curriculum and its relevance to the requirement of the business market on Tuesday 6/11/2012 in the conference room at ten o’clock in the morning and in the presence of the president of university  Dr.  Ameen  Dawai with large number of university of professors and employees of the ministry of oil companies .

The symposium included two lectures, the first given by general manager of the training and development department in ministry of oil, the expert ( Ekdam  Mohammed Redha ) about the development requirements of general curriculum for graduate of students, the second lecture given by (Dr. Mohammed Saleh  Al-Jawad ) the head of petroleum technology department  about reality of department and development of its curriculum that corresponds with business market and future plans in vertical and horizontal expansions .

Then the discussion was opened with attendance that they support the discussion during the symposium by employ their scientific and practical experiences.

(Dr. Mohammed Saleh  Al-Jawad ),  the head of petroleum technology department  declared:

This symposium is the beginning to organize a road map or context of the work for expand curriculum which serve the requirement of business market especially in the field of specialty petroleum engineering and its role in petroleum industry, and he suggested the necessity to develop scientific curricula to keep up the development in science, philosophy and transition to the season system to enter the modern science within the curriculum and optional subjects and the formation of joint committee in cooperation Iraqi universities or international companies to study correlation between the curriculum in petroleum technology department and other sides and the possibility of its application on reality ground which was in the service on science and country.

At the end Dr. Mohammed presented a certificate of thanks and appreciation to external lecture the expert ( Ekdam Mohammed Redha ) for the appreciation of his efforts.
