Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir and within the seasonal scientific activities of the Department and celebrate the day of loyalty , the department  held a scientific seminar entitled:

((Introduction to the Iraqi oil industry and address environmental contamination))

Given by A delegation from the South Oil Company each of Dr. Lutfi Yassin Abdullah and Mr. Abdul Wahab on Tuesday, 27/12/2011 Attended the seminar President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir and the assistant for scientific  affairs Dr. A. D. Mohammed Yahya al-Ani ,and Dr. Wsam  Kazim, Director of scientific affairs , teaching and administrative staff, and the department's students.

This activity comes within the program to activate the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding Joint Scientific Signed between petroleum technology department and South Oil Company which focused on the activation of scientific cooperation between the field work and the academic institution. The president of the University  confirmed on the importance of developing the scientific and the applied relations with oil companies as to develop  the Iraqi economy and the future of Iraq's oil . At the end of the seminar the head of petroleum technology department (Ass. Prof. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar) expressed thanks and gratitude of petroleum technology department  to the lectures for their scientific efforts to activate joint scientific communication.
