Nanotechnology Center at the University of Technology
working to use Nanotechnology to Reduce the Fire Risks in
cooperation with the Oil Products Distribution Company
In light of the orientations of the nanotechnology center that serve
the industrial sector and the community,
Director of the Nanotechnology Research Center and Advanced
Materials Assist. Prof. Dr. Khalid A. Sukkar, received scientific
team from department of fires safety in the Oil Products
Distribution Company / Ministry of Oil include the Chief Engineer
Kifaya Mohammed and
Engineer Khalid Mushatt,
and on Tuesday, 11/22/2016. And on the sidelines of the visit, it
was held an expanded meeting with the administrative staff at the
center included the heads of scientific departments at the center
for the application of nanotechnology in the field of safety and the
reduction of fires in petroleum industry sites.

priorities for action in the oil sites it is to provide the
requirements of safety and security and most important of which is
the nature of the materials used in the construction of these
buildings. Therefore, the center seeks through this collaboration on
using nanomaterials and materials resistant to fires in the oil
sites and stations belonging to the company the distribution of
petroleum products to reduce accidents and reduce fire damage to a
minimum and maintain the infrastructure of these sites.
