The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research blesses the University of Technology holding the first International Conference on Nanotechnology in the Oil and Gas Industry is held between the Nanotechnology Center and the Petroleum Products Distribution Company

 

 

      Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa and the representative of HE the Minister of Oil Advisor Ms. Dhiaa Al-Moussawi inaugurated The first International Scientific Conference on Nanotechnology in the oil and gas industry which held on  3-4 / 5/2017, that was a joint between the Nanotechnology Center at the University of Technology and the Company of Distribution Petroleum products in the Ministry of Oil, In the presence of the Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Walid Al-Halli and the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir and the Director General of the Petroleum Products Distribution Company Mr. Ali Abdul-Karim Al-Moussawi, UOT Vice President for Administrative Affairs Prof.Dr.Sami Abualnoun Ajeel and UOT Vice President for Scientific Affairs Prof.Dr.Alaa Abdulhasan Atiyah and Director of the Nanotechnology Center. Dr. Khalid Ajmi Sukkar, researchers, and professors from various ministries of the State.

     During his speech, HE the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research praised the role of universities in the service of society. He also discussed the importance of nanotechnology in oil and gas projects, as well as congratulate of the University of Technology, the Nanotechnology Center, and the Petroleum Products Distribution Company the distinguished scientific effort through the convening of this international conference, which is an Iraqi scientific precedent. For his part, the representative of the Minister of Oil Advisor Prof. Dhiaa al-Moussawi mentioned on the important leading role of Iraqi scientists and researchers who keep abreast of all scientific developments in which it can provide a qualitative leap serving the national economy in all fields, especially in the oil and gas industry and he  blessed to the University and the Petroleum Products Distribution Company the fruitful cooperation that achieves the advancement of productive sectors.

     The President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir during his speech the achievements and the leading role of the University of technology and to the Nanotechnology Center in providing scientific support for the advancement of all productive sectors, primarily the institutions and companies of Ministry of  Oil. He stressed the dedication of all scientific and academic capabilities at the University of Technology to develop the production movement and improve the performance of equipment, especially in the field of nanotechnology. In his speech on the occasion of the opening of the conference, the Director General of Oil Products Distribution Company Ali Abdul-Karim Al-Moussawi said that the conference comes from the company's endeavor to keep abreast of the scientific developments in the level of production, processing, transport and storage, noting that the new technologies contribute to shortening the time and have a great economic Contributing to reduce maintenance and prolong the life of reservoirs and materials in the oil and gas industry, Praising at the same time the scientific efforts made by the Center of Technology at the University of Technology.

     Dr. Khalid Ajmi, Director of the Nanotechnology Center, said that the first international scientific conference on nanotechnology in the oil and gas industry and its come as a result of the continuous efforts of the professors of the center, the university, and the distribution company, who have been in operation for more than six consecutive months. He pointed out that this scientific event represents a creative move to the Iraqi mind, which can be invested to support the movement of the wheel of production in the institutions of the Ministry of Oil, especially the oil products distribution company. He added that the number of researches submitted to participate in the conference amounted to 105 research, was accepted 56 of them specialized research only. In addition, that all research have been a practical nature which is possible to invest in promoting the oil sector and the national economy of our beloved Iraq.

     At the opening of the conference, the opening session was presided over by Prof.Dr.Alaa Abdulhasan Atiyah UOT Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Dr. Aliaa Hussein Abdul-Salam, Head of Advanced Materials Department at the Nanotechnology Center. Where the meeting the first lecture Dr. Ibrahim Bahr al-Ulum, the former Iraqi oil minister entitled (strategy of the oil and gas industry and the future of nanotechnology). Followed by a lecture by Prof. Ahmed Shoshtari from Amir Kabir University in the Islamic Republic entitled "Different applications of nano fiber in the oil and gas industry".
