Nanotechnology Center at the University of Technology holds a panel
discussion on developments in molecular genetics using CRISPR
technology
The Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center at the
University of Technology held (as part of the Scientific Cultural
Season of the Center) a seminar entitled "Developments in Molecular
Genetics / CRSPR Technology" delivered by Dr.Mahmed Mahdi Jawad at
the Faculty of Education Ibn Al-Haytham for Pure Sciences on Monday
10/4/2017 in the presence of the Director of the Nanotechnology
Center and the heads of departments and teaching staff in the
center.
Where he addressed the researcher in his lecture to the most
recent developments in the science of genetics and the role of
nanotechnology in this important science. This is a new technology
in the field of genetic engineering, which is called "Crespr CRISPR,
allows researchers to change the DNA of any organism super fast
technology. Therefore, Crespr technology is a new system for editing
and modifying genes, this system is characterized by simplicity, low
cost and effectiveness; making it able To change our relationship
with genetics in a radical way The proponents of this technology are
expected to be used in the control of agricultural pests and
increase crops as well as the elimination of human diseases.
At the end of the seminar was delivered a certificate of
appreciation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid A. Sukkar Director of
Nanotechnology center for valuing the efforts of the scientific
lecturer.
