Center of
Nanotechnology has signed a Scientific Contract with
Nanotechnology Center Manufactured a Pilot
Plant
to improve gasoline fuel specifications using Modified Nanocatalysts
In the light of scientific openness witnessed nanotechnology and
advanced materials research center at the University of Technology on
all sectors and on oil and gas sector in special case, and under
supervision of the director of the center (Prof. Dr. Adawya J.
Haider) has been manufacturing pilot system to improve the
specification fuel gasoline using modified nanocatalysts with
operational pressures up 30 bar.
On the other hand, the head of the scientific team specialist oil and
gas projects in the center, (Asst. Prof. Dr. Khalid A. Sukkar)
explained that the use of nanotechnology in the preparation of catalysts
has become one of the important scientific issues that result in a fuel
with a high specification due to the holdings of these cofactors of high
surface area and productivity as well as quality-of-life term. Also,
Dr. Sukkar said that modern oil refineries in the world have
expanded the use of nanotechnology applications in most unit operation.
And the construction of the present pilot plant at the center will
improve the hydroisomerization and catalytic reforming processes
operation with new catalysts. Then, gasoline specifications and
production will improved. So such projects are important in oil
refineries in to promote economic and productive capacity in the Iraqi
refineries.
