Organize Specialized Scientific Symposium on the Applications of
Nanotechnology in Petroleum Projects
Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology
Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer,
Nanotechnology Research Center hold a Scientific Symposium (Nanotechnology
Applications in Petroleum Projects) on a day of Thursday, 12 in
the presence of the Administrative Assistant to President of the
University, heads of scientific departments and the directors of
centers at the university, the representatives of the oil
companies in the oil ministry, and the teaching staff and
researchers from Iraqi universities.
The scientific symposium was inaugurated by the President of the
University of Technology
Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer,
who said in a speech delivered at the event on the need to open up
to the industrial and productive sector, especially the oil sector
and work to promote nanotechnology applications in oil and gas
projects. He added that the University of Technology has achieved a
lot of important scientific achievements, and most recently the
exhibition of the energy inventions, which was held by the Ministry
of Oil, which the university got through it on a wide range of
scientific awards and prizes.
On the other hand, Assist. Prof. Dr. Khalid A. Sukkar /the director
of the nanotechnology center delivered a center speech and a
scientific lecture entitled (the importance of nanotechnology
applications in the oil and gas industry). And that he tackled to
the most important research and the scientific projects that have
been cooperation through it with the oil companies of the oil
ministry in the areas of application of nanotechnology.
Scientific Symposium was chaired by Prof. Abdul Hassan Abd
Karamallah and Asst. Lecturer Azhar Jabbar Bohan scheduled, where it
was during the seminar throwing two lectures, first lecture was
entitled (nanotechnology applications in oil refineries) delivered
by Dr. Yousef Jawad Kadhim from the Training and Development
Department of the Ministry of Oil. Touched during which the
importance of nanotechnology in different units at oil refineries.
The second lecture was entitled (protect oil pipelines and
reservoirs using nanotechnology) delivered by Dr. Alia Hussein
Abdel-Salam / Head of Advanced Materials at the center, which
touched on the use of nanotechnology and nanomaterials in the
coating of reservoirs, pipes and reduce corrosion in the oil
installations.
Scientific Symposium has came out in several scientific
recommendations which are for the promotion of the opening of
horizons of scientific cooperation with the oil sector in order to
promote the use of nanotechnology nanomaterials to solve the
operational problems of the industry of oil and gas that are
suffering from it. Finally, certificates are distributed to the
lecturers and the Chair.
