Visiting Program for a PhD student in USA

Alaa Abdul Jabbar Hussain Al-Baldawi a PhD student in Applied Sciences department and a lecturer in Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center has been completed visiting research scholarship with CREOL, the college of Optics and Photonics at the University Of Central Florida (UCF) during the time frame November 3, 2015 to April 1, 2016.

Alaa Al-Baldawi has taken part in a research project on porous silicon filled metallic nanoparticles as a surface-enhanced Raman scattering for chemical compounds detection. She trained on Zeiss ULTRA-55 FEG-SEM and Renishaw RM 1000B Micro-Raman Spectrometer in Materials Characterization Facility (MCF); she also passed the safety laboratory online course in the Environmental Health and Safety Department. In addition the student published two scientific researches in global journals:

1- "Optimizing of porous silicon morphology for synthesis of silver nanoparticles"  Surface and Coating Technology with impact factor (1.9),

2-"Study on Morphological and Structural Properties of Silver Plating on Laser Etched Silicon"

Microporous and Mesoporous Materials  with impact factor (3.49).
