Nanotechnology Research Center at the University of Technology held workshop  entitled: “ The proper and safe handling with nanomaterials in laboratories"

Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Daway Thamir, held in Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Centre, in collaboration with the University Committee for Control and Handling of  chemicals, specialist workshop for researchers and graduate students entitled: (The proper and safe handling with nanomaterials in laboratories)  on Monday 24/10/2016 with the presence of  Vice President for Scientific Affairs Assist. Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdulhasan Atiyah a representative of the President of the University, also with presence of  the heads of departments and professors and researchers. The Vice President said in a speech delivered at the occasion the importance of the proper and safe handling with nanomaterials, and the adoption of safe conditions in all laboratories in order to preserve the researchers' health in this vital area.

The workshop  sessions are chaired by Prof. Dr. Najat J. Saleh and Dr. Aliaa Hussein Abdul Salam was a co-chair. Two lectures were given during the workshop, the first lecture was entitled (the proper and safe handling with nanomaterials in laboratories) given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Khalid A. Sukkar / Director of Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center.  The second lecture entitled (Manufacturing and Characterization of Nanostructures) given by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Jassim Mohammed / College of Remote and Geological Sensing / Alkarkh University for Science. The workshop recommended several scientific recommendations which include the dissemination of correct ways of dealing with nanomaterials properly. Finally, the certificates were distributed to the lecturers and the Chair by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs.
