Department of Computer Sciences' students and staff participated in the central ceremony which was held at the Universitys' gardens to celebrate the fortieth anniversary , The ceremony, which was sponsored by Prof. Amin Douai Thamer president of the University in the presence of Prime Minister Deputy Bahaa Al-Araji, and a number of senior state officials and a group of students from the Department of Computer Science participated by their scientific results in a tent included within this scientific exhibition held on university land that happened on Monday, April 13, 2015.

Within the celebration a number of awards, namely: the best department award a number of contracts, and Prof. Ahmed Tariq Sadiq, for ​​obtaining the professorship rank during this year, and also a student in Preliminary studies was honored (Shelan Waad Edwan) being the first student on the departmet, as well as honoring Lect. Asst. Sarah Faris Amer.
