Hand Written Numbers Recognition Research



- Asst. Lecturer Nada Najeel Kamal has recently published a research in the Iraqi Journal of Science titled as “Utilizing of Edge Information in Handwritten Numerals Recognition”. The research published into the folder 57, Number 2A, and 2016 version. It has discussed three different ways can be used in order to recognize Arabic hand written numbers. The form of the numbers has several number of applications that capable to capture and realize these numbers. In the first method the bilinear interpolation of the image is used, while in the second method the after the bilinear interpolation is applied the Sobel operators is applied on the resulted image. In the third method the effect of equalization of image dimensions is tested. 550 numbers pictures were tested and the result was 97.63%.
