Meeting of the General Committee

The first meeting of the general committee for the academic year 2016-2017 was held in the presence of the presedent of the university Prof. Ameen Douai Thamer and the presence of the department's dean Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdel Wahab, the head of the administrative affairs Dr. Ayad Roudhan and the head of scientific affairs Dr. Alia Kareem. The meeting began with a speech by the university's presedent in which he emphasized the importance of belonging to the university to offer positive activities, because the university community is a sophisticated society that refuses the negative phenomena he also emphasized on the scientific researches and works by the teaching staff because it have a great impact on the reputation of the university so that at least two research papers each year must be accomplshed.

The University of Technology has achieved the second place between the Iraqi universities on science with a margin of 1.7 from the first place, which was occupied by Al Nahrain University, Dr. Ameen also metioned the opening of the evening study and he emphasized that the evening studyy to be treated like the morning study in terms of teaching and the level of questions for the success of this experiment to preserve the reputation of the governmantal universities compared to the civil colleges.

The dean of the department Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdel Wahab welcomed the start of the new academic year, as the department is used to establish a plan at the beginning of each academic year, as the plan for the previous academic year achieved its goals and the department is proud that it received the first place in administrative management, also the previous achievements include:

• held 10 specialized scientific symposia.
• Excellence on the department's website
• Excellence on sports activities
• Non registration of students' fraud cases and co-opt them and solve their problems.
• Complete the restoration for the extension building in the next month.
• Expansion of classrooms to 18 classroom
• Scientific Activities will start the next week for the new academic year
• Educational guidance to the students to move to the courses system
• Adoption of computrized systems
