About the Branch:

The Mining Engineering and extractive metallurgy from the disciplines necessary for the development of the mining industry in addition to it the mainstay of the manufacturing operations as it provides minerals and raw materials for various industries.

Due to the lack of this specialty in Iraqi universities, it has been introduce this Branch within the Department of Production Engineering and Metallurgy and work it from the academic year 2012-2013 .

The main task is concentrated to this section to provide students with basic knowledge for the extraction of mineral ores and concentrate operations and remove impurities and extract mineral elements for use in manufacturing processes.

Students acquire during studying the scientific background and skills required to work in the field of mining, especially in the field of mining, especially in the field of design, testing and operation and management of the extraction of raw materials and extraction of minerals efficiently and economic operations.
