The Environmental Research Center holds a symposium about protecting the biological variety

Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer al-Tamimi, Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology holds a biodiversity Workshop entitled "protecting biodiversity is a national task" which was held in the Green Hall at Wednesday, 24/12/2014 in the presence of UOT vice president for scientific affairs Dr. Wissam Khadhim Hamdan, Dr. Abdul Hameed Mohammad Jawad /director of the center and a large number of heads of departments and directors of the centers and teaching staff.
The director of Environmental Research Center Dr. Abdul Hameed Mohamed Al-Obaidy opens the symposium with a welcoming speech , then the lectures begin which was delivered by the chancellort of the Minister of Environment, Dr. Ali Abdul-Zahra Al-Lami entitled "Iraq's accession to international agreements to preserve biological diversity and preparing the first national strategy to it in Iraq." The second lecture entitled "bio-diversity protection mechanisms in Iraq for biological researcher Zena Abdullah, then questions and discussions were asked and f appreciation certificates were distributed.

The workshop aim is education by making the subject of biodiversity as important societal and national task and inviting all Iraqi institutions to have a role in sustaining biodiversity and demonstrate the importance of biodiversity as a national resource for future.
The organizing committee of the workshop consisted Prof. Dr. Abdul Hameed Mohamed Jawad as a president and membership of Dr. Salih Abdolredha Al-Salih and Assist. Lecturer .ahmad Safaa Abdul Hassan and Assist. Lecturer Enas Saad Mohammed and the engineer Athmar Abdul Majeed and Maha Mehdi Hashem.
