Ministry of Oil and University of Technology Sign Mutual Scientific memorandum
Ministry of Oil and university of technology made a mutual scientific memorandum on "developing the national economy in the fields of oil and gas industry to serve our beloved Iraq" on Tuesday oct.27.2020 at the ministry of Oil headquarter.
The delegation of the university consists of university vice-president for scientific affairs Asst.Prof.Dr.Haider Abd, Head of promotions committee Prof.Dr.Faraj Mahal and Head of support and coordination committee Asst.Prof.Dr.Khalid Ajmi, administrative affairs deputy for laser and optical electronics engineering department Asst.Prof.Dr.Mohameed Mojbal, administrative affairs deputy for Architecture department Asst.Prof.Dr.Mahdi Salih, Head of Oil Refining branch at chemical engineering department Asst.Prof.Dr.Riyad Sadiq , head of scientific affairs and cultural relationships Asst.Prof.Dr.Alaa Abdul-Hadi and lecturer at building and constructions engineering department Asst.Prof.Dr.Zainab Bahaa
The activation of the memorandum consists of three axes, the first one about postgraduate studies through the participation of doctorate holders in making curricula of high studies (higher diploma, masters and doctoral degrees). The second axis on undergraduate studies in developing the educational curricula related to oil and gas industry and the axis on giving the faculty and ministry employees the chance in research and conferences and mutual scientific researches.

Civil Engineering Department at UOT held seminars and presentations for PhD students of structural engineering branch, research students' steps and what they are achieved are discussed. The discussion was attended by number of lecturers and supervisors in the department; it is presented valuable interpositions by the professors to evaluate research steps by asking them accurate and important scientific questions and giving new ideas for future researches.

University of Technology Receives Ministerial Committee
Asst.Prof.Dr.Hussien Alaa, head of Materials engineering department at University of Technology accompanied with his scientific deputy Lect.Dr.Mohanned Najah and administrative deputy Asst.Prof.Dr.Nahidh Mahmood and number of the faculty received the ministerial committee of research and development office at the ministry of high education and scientific research on Monday oct.26.2020. The visit aimed to acquaint with the department readiness and to meet the requirements for openning a new branch of biological materials and artificial compensations in materials field. The visit included a field tour to evaluate the labs and studying rooms and its suitability, conformity and the required standard for creating the branch. It is worth noting that the committee praised the department leadership and the authorities at the university in their efforts to provide the best specialized labs and quality devices that contribute in supporting the academic studies.

Preparing and diagnosing new types of comfortable and compatible contact lenses
Hydrophilic monomers containing: an experimental study and modeling.
The student indicated the goal of the thesis is to manufacture contact lenses with different proportions of silicon and hydrophilic monomers by means of optical polymerization, to study the effect on the composition of silicon hydrogels for different percentages of monomers, a case study on adsorption kinetics, and a mathematical model for silicon gels.
