The Department of Chemical Engineering discusses Seminar, Masters Student, Kholoud Salem Dawood, on: (Preparing a developed and Iraqi clay for the purpose of sulfur removal for heavy fuel)

The Department of Chemical Engineering discussed Seminar, Masters Student, Kholoud Salem Dawoud about (Preparing an Iraqi compound developed and developed for the purpose of the process of removing sulfur for heavy fuel)

Preparation of Composite- Modified Iraq Clays for the Hydro desulfurization of Heavy Fuels On Al-Khwarizmi Hall in the presence of the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Jamal Manea Al-Rubaie, Deputies , Heads of Branches, and a number of teaching staff, employees, and masters students, on Thursday, 1/9/2020.

The student explained that the oil refining industry has grown significantly during the twentieth century to become an important part of modern daily activity and one of the main goals of treatment for heavy fuel is to reduce the very high sulfur content. This project aims to prepare and characterize different types of catalysts (a catalyst) using Iraqi kaolin clay (methacholine materials, porous materials and a type of natural clay in Iraq). This type of clay is inserted and synthesized with alumina as a supportive compound of the catalyst for the desulfurization process and the use of a series of active minerals (for example, nickel, iron, cobalt, silver, copper, and molybdenum) as activating minerals for the catalyst action. The cofactor is prepared using the IWI method and its characterization using X-ray (XRD), electron microscopy, pore size and surface area. HDS desulfurization activity (gas oil) is carried out by comparison with different conditions (temperature, pressure, etc.) by the fixed bed reactor. And mechanical study of the process of removing sulfur, using a group of us for different auxiliary factors, each one separately, and applying this process through a mathematical model.
