Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Ali Fayad works in the field of Mechanical Engineering in specialization of the renewable fuels and internal combustion (IC) engines in Energy and Renewable Energies Technology Center, University of Technology- Iraq. Dr. Mohammed Ali Fayad holds a Ph.D. in Renewable Fuels and Combustion 2017 from the School of Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Birmingham, UK.

He has many research interests represented in the use of biofuels and their blends in internal combustion engines. He has several published papers in fields of using different biofuel generations in internal combustion (IC) engines, analysis of gaseous and solid emissions, nano additives, sophisticated exhaust catalyst systems that responsible for controlling pollutants, analysis of the physical and nanostructure properties of particulate emissions as well as solar thermal energy. He has two patents registered in the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in Iraq. In addition, he is selected among the best 2% of world scientists according to the Stanford University (USA) for the year 2022, depending on scientific specialization, research path and citations.

He took responsibility of the head of Fuel Energy Department in 2020 at the Energy and Renewable Energies Technology Center and currently managing the Energy and Renewable Energies Technology Center at the University of Technology in 2023.
