The Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology awarded a Master's degree in Mechatronics Engineering for the student Maryam Hassan Daoud with a very good grade for her thesis:
(Model Reference Adaptive Control based on a Self-recurrent
Wavelet Neural Network Utilizing Micro Artificial Immune
 Systems)
The discussion committee consisted of: Mona Hadi Saleh as President Ahmed Ibrahim Abdel Karim and Prof. Ahmed Alaa Akla members and dr. Omar Farouk Lotfi Supervisor
The student designed an adaptive control system with a reference model based on a self-replicated, self-replicated neural network and as a teaching method, the newly modified artificial immune system was used to find optimal values for the network parameters used. The efficiency of the method that used to control several dynamic nonlinear systems has been demonstrated. Several evaluation tests have been adopted for each controlled system. These tests include control performance tests, durability tests and generalization tests. Among these tests, the proposed system showed its efficiency in terms of accuracy of control, rejection of external influences and generalization. In addition to these tests, a comparative study was carried out with other relevant controls, namely the original neuromuscular neural network, the neural network, and the modified frequency network.
The results of this study showed that the dominant control over the other dominant.
