The Control and Systems Engineering  Department  at the University of Technology held a workshop on "(How to write scientific research and publishing in international journals

The course was conducted by Prof. Dr. Salim Khalifa Kadhim from Control and Systems Engineering and, Assist.Prof..Laith Jafar Habib from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, a lecture on what is the scientific research, research design, research problems, references and documentation, and what are the published magazines and what is Thomson, Routers&Scopus

And how to publish the research in the magazine and what is the coefficient of influence(Impact Factor) A group of graduate and postgraduate students in the department received valuable information on how to write scientific research and to publish in international journals

The Department of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations at the University of Technology held a workshop in cooperation with a professional organization for Better Iraq to discuss quality standards for laboratories at Al-Kindi Hall in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering.

Representatives of the organization gave lectures on the medical devices and their applications, as well as addressing the most important standards of quality of the detectives and their applicability at the University of Technology.

Laser and Optical Department of Electronics at the University of Technology held an introductory workshop on laser science for students of the fourth stage and alumni. The basic concepts in laser science, which include the principles of operation, types and methods of  laser formation and its uses in various industrial and medical fields, have been discussed.

The workshop included the most important features, namely high intensity, high accuracy and accurate temporal wavelength. These features give the laser beam the possibility of strict and unique application in the fields of industrial and medical rare as well as military as well as the high potential in the field of communication and accurate and long-range and large capacities in storage and loading information and images High.

Lecturer participates in conference

University of technology delegated Prof.Dr. Thamer Jasim to Basrah to participate in Iraqi fourth conference for oil and gas

4ICOG through presenting his research which is taken from the master thesis of the student Saif Habeb "Treatment of Refinery Industry Wastewater Using Ion Exchange Technology and Studies Kinetics and Thermo-dynamic Parameters"

The conference was held in 13-14/12/2107 and was sponsored by the Ministry of Oil - Oil Research and Development Center.

The conference included the following topics: oil production and reservoirs, erosion in oil installations, gas technology and associated gas investment, refining and product improvement, environment and safety in the oil industry, explorations and oil geology, oil drilling technology and its problems.

The two students from the Department of Petroleum Technology at the University of Technology participated in the third conference of Environment and Sustainable Development held at the University for the period from 15-16 / 11/2017 in the research entitled "Ultrasound Technology in Wastewater Treatment by Coagulation Electric "

The study included conducting a study to investigate the possibility of using ultrasound technology as a new technique to help improve the efficiency of the removal of industrial wastewater with technical coagulation technique. The researcher, Assist.Prof.Dr. Najem Abdelkazem, discussed the possibility of using this technique to treat industrial polluted water. The conference is a tribute to their outstanding role and contribution

Assist.Prof. Dr Sami Ibrahim Al-Rubaie, Head of the Mining and Extraction Engineering Department at the Department of Production and Minerals Engineering at the University of Technology, participated in the first international conference for pure sciences of Qadisiyah University, which was held on 19 and 20 of November 2017.

Extraction of cadmium from NiCd sent batteries

The conference was attended by researchers from countries such as Belgium, Serbia, Germany, Iran, Bahrain, France, Brazil, India and the United States, as well as participants from various Iraqi universities.

Lecturer participates in the ADIPEC Conference

Asst.lect.Ibrahim Abdul-Salam, lecturer at the petroleum technology department at the university of technology, participated in the international conference ADIPEC which was hold in UAE/   Abo-Dabi with his research "Predict the problems of drilling in the fields of Basra using the Smartphone application" which supervised by Prof.Dr.Mohammed Salih and Dr.Bashar Sadoon. The researcher presented during the conference an explanatory presentation of his research, which is the first research of its kind in the field of drilling software dealing with the oil sector, as the research is part of his master's thesis that he granted with excellent degree. At the end of the conference, the researcher gained an appreciation letter for his efforts.

Participated Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed from the Department of Conference marked: The Eight Jordan International Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology at the International Chemical Engineering Conference, JIChEC2017 held in Jordan for 7-9 / 11/2017. He gave Dr. Thamer's research tagged Turbidity and Oil Removal from oilfield Produced water by Coagulation- Flocculation Technique. From the dissertation of the master student Asra Radhi Abbas and accredited as a contract for the Ministry of Oil / Oil Research and Development Center.

The conference included some of the topics in the specialty of chemical engineering, including separation, hydrodynamics, albayo, energy alternatives and water pollution.

Eng. Dr. Salim Khalifa Kadhim of the Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology participated in the World International Conference in Malaysia, (Numerical investigation on the effect of the thickness of the diffuser on the structural stresses in the mechanical heart valve bi-diffuser for the possibility of manufacturing)
Between the researcher can cause structural stress caused by blood flow through the aortic industrial valve for failure due to the effect of submission. In this study, structural analysis, particularly the thickness of the leaf, was performed on the equivalent stresses found in the BMHV due to the blood flow through which it was investigated.
The "Fluid Structure" interaction approach has been used on the basis of Langergy Ullerian arbitrary technique (ALE) with the help of an external program (UDF). The results show that the high stress of von Mises was placed in BMHV with a thickness of 0.5mm and 0.6mm leaf, where the increase was 75% and 13% higher than the equivalent permissible stress, respectively. Thus, these insomnia releases are unsustainable to be replaced by a diseased urethral valve.

Among the outstanding activities of the Nanotechnology Research and Advanced Materials Center on both research and applied fields, Lect.Dr. Ali AbdulWahab, the Chairman of the Department of Biotechnology Research at the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Center participated in the first International Scientific Conference of the Science Collage in University of Qadisiyah, which was held from 19-20 / 11/2017 in cooperation with AL-Bahith corporation for academic coordination with his research (Morphology, Structure and Magnetic Properties on the Copper Ferrite System Synthesized by Chemical Method)

The Center for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials at the University of Technology is one of the most important scientific centers in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the research and studies which it presents have huge presence in all conferences and seminars held in this regard
