The Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Technology organized a scientific symposium titled "Applications of Nanotechnology in the field of Environmental Protection" on Tuesday 12/12/2017 at Dar Al-Salam Hall with the presence of the university's deputy for administrative affairs Dr. Sami Abul-Nun Ajeel and the Head of Chemical Engineering Dr. Jamal Mana Ali Al-Rubaie, both scientific and administrative deputies, and a number of teachers, students.The symposium included one session chaired by Asst.Prof.Dr. Adnan Abdul-Jabbar and its coordinator Asst.Prof.Dr.Khalid Hamed and included three scientific lectures entitled "Nanotechnology in the field of environmental protection." The lecture was presented by Dr. Adawia Jumaa Badr from the Department of Applied Sciences at the University and the second (Nanotechnology applications in the field of environment and water) by Dr. Nazir Jamal Omran from the Ministry of Science and Technology- Department of Environment and Water and the third (the future of water and air treatment in the world using nanotechnology techniques) by Lect.Dr.Alaa Mishjal.


The Production Engineering and Minerals Department at the University of Technology held a specialized course on common errors in the use of Arabic language and administrative communication.Dr.Waleed Hamdi,a lecturer at the department, presents the lecture explaining the common errors in the Arabic language, and how to avoid them according to the correct rules as well as to be acquainted with the correct linguistic pattern

Within the scientific and cultural activities of the Electrical Engineering Department for the academic year 2017-2018, the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology Asst.Prof.Dr. Dari Yousif presents a seminar on (smart networks are future network) on Dijlah Hall at the department with the presence of both scientific and administrative deputies Asst.Prof.Dr.Abbas Hussien and Lect.Dr.Kanaan Ali and head of the branches, faculty and the staff of the department.
The lecture deals with the smart networks that represent a new electric system generation, which is a high degree of integration of traditional networks and modern technologies such as: advanced communication systems, remote sensing systems, digital systems to control the consumption of appliances at home, saving energy and reducing costs, Reliability for networks

The two students from the Department of Petroleum Technology at the University of Technology participated in the third conference of Environment and Sustainable Development held at the University for the period from 15-16 / 11/2017 in the research entitled "Ultrasound Technology in Wastewater Treatment by Coagulation Electric "
The study included conducting a study to investigate the possibility of using ultrasound technology as a new technique to help improve the efficiency of the removal of industrial wastewater with technical coagulation technique. The researcher, Assist.Prof.Dr. Najem Abdelkazem, discussed the possibility of using this technique to treat industrial polluted water. The conference is a tribute to their outstanding role and contribution
