Assc.Prof.Dr.Mahmood Salih, the Head of Water and Hydraulics Engineering Department at the Department of Building and Construction Engineering at the University of Technology, and Engineer Zahra Abdel-Hussein from the Ministry of Water Resources, participated in the International Conference of the European Organization for Environmental, Water and Desert Research, held in Turkey for 7-9 / 5/2018 with their research (A 2D HYDRODYNAMIC / POLLUTANT TRANSPORT AND GIS-BASED APPROACH FOR OPTICAL WATER QUALITY MONITORING STATIONS).
The research included the application of a methodology to find the sites of water quality stations in the eastern part of Hammar Hor in a mathematical way. This methodology is based on the results of the application of two-dimensional simulation models for modeling water movement, spread of pollutants, standards, determinants, land cover maps and land uses. The results of the models were analyzed using spatial analysis tools in geographic information systems to identify the most sensitive sites for water quality change and prioritize them based on their degree of susceptibility to variability in water quality.

Minerals and Production Engineering Department at the University of Technology hold a scientific symposium for its post graduate students in the presence of the head of department Assc.Prof.Dr.Ali Abaar and number of lecturers.
The symposium was chaired by the scientific deputy of the department Assc.Prof.Dr.Aseel Hamad in which many Students were discussed about their completed research and a number of valuable interventions by the attendees was made, which added usefulness to evaluating the course of some researches by presenting the precise scientific foundations for important aspects of their research.

Electricity engineering department grants MSC to the student Mohammed Khamees for his thesis "----------------".
In his thesis, the researcher proposed the design of three antennas with indirect feeding to operate in different applications for wireless communication. The first antenna was designed as a square and was rotated at 45, angle, where it was found that reducing the antenna base length plays a major role in finding the location of the frequency of work and bandwidth. The second model was designed as a hexagonal ring and was fed indirectly by two Y-shaped arms connected to the feeding line and the angle between them is equal to 120.
The third proposed V-shaped antenna was also indirectly fed by two Y-shaped arms connected to the feeding line and an angle of 55 الذي that had a rectangular middle piece to control the center of the upper beam. All student-designed antennas have been manufactured, tested and standardized by the Electronic Manufacturing Center of the Industrial Research and Development Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof.Dr.Raad Hamdan, Assc.Prof.Dr. Thameer Rasshed and Assc.Prof.Dr.Jamal Mohamed as members and Lect.Dr.Ali Jabar as a supervisor.

University of Technology participated in the conference on "National Standards for Institutional Accreditation Towards the Universality of Iraqi Universities", which was launched by the Minister of High Education and Scientific Research Prof.Dr.Abdul-Razzaq Al-Issa and held at Al Nahrain University on Wednesday 16/5/2018, in the presence of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs Prof.Dr. Sami Abul-Nun Ajeel, representing the President of the University, Prof.Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, a lecturer at the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Assc.Prof.Dr.Maha Hamoud, the Director of Quality Assurance and University Performance Department.
Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud chaired the conference as well as being a member of the committee on the preparation of standards. The Minister of Higher Education revealed in his speech the establishment of a national accreditation institute to prepare quality standards for state institutions with all its specialties and evaluate its outputs. Adding the ministry has been preparing and launching national institutional accreditation standards through the formation of a ministerial committee competent in the field of quality.
The Minister of Higher Education pointed out that these standards will create an atmosphere of positive competition between Iraqi universities and ensured the continuation of the quality of universities and their ability to compete globally. The national standards for institutional accreditation of universities included eight main axes and a number of indicators and elements aimed at achieving the objectives of educational institutions.
