Within the activities of the scientific and cultural activity of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology for the academic year 2017-2018 Lena Wahib Mahmoud a lecture entitled:
Study the thermodynamic conditions of clathrate hydrates dissociation for ternary systems comprising (refrigerant, salt, water)
Study of the thermodynamic conditions of hydrodite disintegration of the three-component system (cooling gas, water, salt)
Al Khwarizmi Hall in the presence of the Head of Chemical Engineering Department. Assist.Prof.Dr.Jamal Mouna Ali Al-Rubaie, assistants, branch heads, and a number of lecture , students. The dissociation temperature of three types of saline solutions, sodium chloride, potassium bromide and sodium fluoride, was calculated at three concentrations (R134a + water + salt) 0,09, 0.17, 0,26) mol / kg. The Clavirone equation was used to calculate the dissociation temperature of the binary and trigonometric system depending on the practical data of disintegration. The result of the study was done using the case equation of Peng and Robinson, to find the effect of the compressive factor (z) on the dissociation temperature. The output of the binary system (143,8) kjol / m without z and with z (136.08) kjol / mol. The ratio of the calculated values of the tripartite system with the presence of sodium chloride at the three concentrations of non-z (146.7-154.1) kg / m and z (138,02-145,14) kg / mall. The rate of deviation between the two values (5, 8-5.7)%. The other two types of salts have the same results at a deviation of (0.88-0,129)% for the results of sodium chloride salt without z and deviation rate (0,818-0,129)% for the results of sodium chloride with z.

Eng. Dr. Salim Khalifa Kadhim of the Department of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology participated in the World International Conference in Malaysia, (Numerical investigation on the effect of the thickness of the diffuser on the structural stresses in the mechanical heart valve bi-diffuser for the possibility of manufacturing)
Between the researcher can cause structural stress caused by blood flow through the aortic industrial valve for failure due to the effect of submission. In this study, structural analysis, particularly the thickness of the leaf, was performed on the equivalent stresses found in the BMHV due to the blood flow through which it was investigated.
The "Fluid Structure" interaction approach has been used on the basis of Langergy Ullerian arbitrary technique (ALE) with the help of an external program (UDF). The results show that the high stress of von Mises was placed in BMHV with a thickness of 0.5mm and 0.6mm leaf, where the increase was 75% and 13% higher than the equivalent permissible stress, respectively. Thus, these insomnia releases are unsustainable to be replaced by a diseased urethral valve.

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology organized a seminar for students of the first stage attended by the Head of Computer Science Department Assist.prof.Dr. Hala Bahjat Abdul Wahab and the scientific assistants Assist.prof.Dr..Da'alia Karim and the Administrative Assist.prof.Dr. Ayad Roudan and the course's supervisor. Yasser Munther and heads of branches.
The symposium focused on several important axes: renouncing religious and sectarian extremism, establishing national identity and public behavior on campus and the department, taking care of students' status in the internal departments, establishing the values of community coexistence and discussing the system of courses and infectious diseases and how to prevent them.
And included the need to care for students with special needs as well, education against terrorist ideology and the use of social media, electronic fraud, and commitment to permanence, as well as the definition of the department and its branches and the minimum acceptance in each section of the section

The graduate follow-up unit in the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Technology held a course entitled "soft skills" on the conference hall in the department in order to train graduates on how to apply for jobs.

Presentations were given in the course entitled Personal Styles, how CV work and how to interview work.

The lectures were given by Mr. Laith Awni Khadr from the Iraqi Center for Creativity and Development and Mr. Hassan Ismail Abdul Kadhim from PTC Group.

At the end of the course, certificates of participation were distributed to students participating in the course.
