A Research team at the University of Technology gained a patent from the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control in the Ministry of Planning for ((design and manufacture of low-cost system to reduce the viscosity of Iraqi crude oil and improve the flow of pipelines))

The patent contained reducing the viscosity of Iraqi crude oil by shedding an electric field of a certain intensity through the design and manufacture of low-cost electrical capacitors placed inside the pipe used to shed the field on crude oil, which formed the insulation material between the electrodes of the electrolytic capacitance and composed of a perforated and coated metal plate The number and diameter of the holes are designed to allow the oil to be arranged in short chains so that the flow and friction resistance between the fluid layers and the pipe walls are reduced and so that the viscosity is reduced also. Optimal conditions were found which were 32 seconds operating time, 188 volts and 6.11 cm for distance between the capacitance electrodes, the viscosity reduction was more than 40% at 12 ° C that lasted for 11 hours.

The research team contains a teaching staff of Electromechanical Engineering Department and they were:-

1- Assist.Prof. Dr. Rahik I. Ibrahim.

2- Prof. Dr. Manal K. Ouda.

3- Lec. Aus F. Hassan.

The graduate follow-up unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering held a training course on (the future of water and air pollution treatment in the world using nanotechnology) on Tuesday, 8/9/2019 at Dar Al Salam Hall.

A lecture was given by Dr. Alaa on how to identify the latest methods used in the treatment of water and air pollution in the world using the central nanomaterials that have the highest ability to treat at the lowest quantity and cost, as well as the continuous development of these methods and conducting modern research that produces good and tangible results. In this field, at the end of the course certificates of participation were granted to graduates.

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology held a workshop on the new student outputs of ABET International for program accreditation delivered by the lecturer at the department Prof. jalal Mohammed Jalil.

The workshop included an explanation of the new indicators of the seven students' outputs, which were derived from the old (AK) outputs. I took from ILLINOIS US University.

The workshop also reviewed the new program education objectives to be adopted by the Department of Electromechanical Engineering in the next academic year 2019-2020.

The Department of Electrical Engineering organized a workshop on (Accreditation of Appreciation Ladder (Rubric) in scientific laboratories and graduation projects and its role in improving the quality of student performance) in the presence of the President of the University of Technology and scientific and administrative assistants Higher education and scientific research and a number of representatives of private colleges. .

The workshop, which was delivered by Dr. Uday Ali Ahmed, aims to use the assessment scale to improve student performance and support e-learning platforms for all teaching and learning tools and facilitate their use.
