Electromechanical Engineering Department grant MS.C

Electromechanical Engineering Department at the University of Technology granted MS.C degree to the student (Taif Jassim Mohammed) in the field of energy engineering for her thesis tagged:

"Enhancement the Properties of Cross-Linking Polyethylene Underground Cables by Using Nanoparticles"

The thesis aimed to improve the insulating properties of interlocked polyethylene ground cables by inhibiting the phenomenon of electrical dendritic using nanoparticles, where two types of nanoparticles were used: zirconia ZrO2 and alumina Al2O3 with different concentrations. The results proved that nanoparticles have the ability to inhibit this phenomenon and improve the life of the insulation.

The discussion committee consisted of:

- Assist. Prof. Dr. Walaa Musa Hashim. The head from UOT, Electromechanical Eng. Dep.

- Assist. Prof. Dr. Naseer Majeed Yassin. Member from Electrical Technical College – Baghdad.

-Lec. Dr. Ghassan Abdul-Hussein Bilal. Member from Electromechanical Eng. Dep.

 - Asist. Prof. Dr. Sahar Rady Farag Supervisor from Electromechanical Eng. Dep.

- Assist. Prof. Dr. Hadiya Kazem. Supervisor from Electromechanical Eng. Dep.
