Department of Electromechanical Engineering awards a master's degree on scientific verification of a smart greenhouse

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology awarded the student Sorra Hamdi Hassan a master’s degree in the field of energy engineering for her thesis tagged:

“Scientific verification of a smart greenhouse fed by the solar energy system”

The thesis dealt with the design of a smart greenhouse that relies entirely on clean solar energy to provide it with the electrical energy needed to operate its parts. Several systems were added, including the solar tracking system, the ventilation system, the solar water heater system, the traditional cooling system for the house, the solar panel cooling system, and an integrated control system for the house.

The study reached several results, the most important of which is reducing the temperature inside the house by about 12 degrees Celsius, maintaining the highest polarization of solar radiation during daylight hours, and reducing the temperature of the solar panel by about ten degrees Celsius, which led to maintaining the efficiency of the solar panel.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof.Dr. Adel Abdul-Razzaq Muhammad from Tikrit University, College of Engineering, as Chairman, and the membership of each of the Prof. Dr. Adel Hannoun Eyal and Prof. Dr. Ahlam Laibi Shraiji, in addition to Prof. Dr. Abdel Latif Ahmed Gadallah and Prof. Dr. Ghassan Abdel Hussein, all of them from the University of Technology, Department of Electromechanical Engineering.
