A master's thesis was discussed in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology entitled: 
“Effect of Nano Particles Blended Bio- Diesel Fuel on Combustion, Performance and Emission Characteristics of a Single Cylinder Diesel Engine”
The thesis of the student (Ahmed Fadel Awwad) aimed at studying the effect of using biodiesel from (Nile flower) as an alternative to diesel fuel, and studying the effect of adding it to diesel fuel in volume proportions (10%, 20%, 30%) on the performance characteristics and reducing exhaust emissions for a compression ignition engine. , as well as studying the effect of adding nanomaterials (CuO, Co3O4, Al2O3) with mass ratios (50 ppm, 100 ppm) on performance characteristics and reducing exhaust emissions.

The researcher concluded that the brake thermal efficiency increased by (16.29%) when using the biodiesel mixture (D80B20), and the (bsfc) decreased by (13.88%) and the percentage of CO emissions was increased by 9.21%, and the percentage of (NOx) was increased by 6.21% at medium loads. And high, while the thermal brake efficiency increased by 6.6%, and (bsfc) decreased by 4.2%, and the percentage of (CO) emission decreased by 12.24%, and the percentage of (NOx) decreased by 14.19% when adding Co3O4 nanomaterials by (50 ppm) with (D80B20) mixture.

The researcher recommended studying the effect of heating the fuel (nano particles mixed with biofuel from Nile flower) before entering the engine and investigating the effect of nano particles mixed with biodiesel from Nile flower on the combustion, performance and emissions of a high pressure injector engine.
