Civil Engineering Department hold a scientific symposium

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Ghabban,

And the supervision of the Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Hassan Hamoudi Juni,

The Civil Engineering Department held a scientific symposium entitled

(Scientific Publishing in Refereed Journals and Its Role in Upgrading Universities Ranking), attended by the head of the department, Prof. Hassan Hamoudi Joni and Deputy Head for  Scientific Affairs Prof. Mohamed Youssef Fattah and the Deputy Head for  Administration Affairs of the Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Qais Jawad Freeh and a number of branch heads, faculty staff and employees in the department.

This symposium is part of a series of symposia held by the Civil Engineering Department with the aim of increasing the culture of discreet scientific publishing for the department's professors to raise the department's scientific standing.

And it dealt with, (the importance of scientific research and publication in refereed academic journals for universities, researchers and graduate students, as well)

The symposium included several lectures:

- The first lecture: Prof. Dr. Muhammad Youssef Fattah about (publication requirements in refereed magazines and obstacles)

- The second lecture: Assist. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Majid, about (Research Visibility)

- The third lecture: Assist. Prof. Dr. Ali Majeed Khudair about (Standards for the Iraqi classification and international classifications related to the scientific publishing)

- Fourth lecture: Assist. Prof. Dr. Hisham Al-Shara about (How to find the terms of indexing periodicals for Scopus and Web off Science magazines)

- Fifth lecture: Lec. Dr. Ahmed Sobhi Abdel-Jabbar about, (Refereed publishing culture and the avoidance of predatory sites)
