Applied Sciences Eng. Dep. hold a scientific symposium

Under UOT President supports, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and under the direct supervision of the Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Raed A. Ismail, the Applied Chemistry Branch, in cooperation with the General Company for Electric Power Production, the Central Region, held a scientific symposium tagged: (Laboratory Safety: Challenges and Hazards)In the presence of President Assistant of Administrative Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hussein Hamid Karim, President Assistant of Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abd Dahad, number of employees and faculty staff.

The symposium began with the national anthem and a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the souls of Iraqi martyrs.

The symposium included two sessions: -

1st session, headed by Prof. Dr. Abdul Nasser M. Abdullah, and the rapporteur Prof. Dr. Bashar H. Qassem, which included two lectures: -

1st lecture delivered by the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Raed Abdul-Wahhab, entitled (Laser / Hazards and safety procedures)

2ed lecture delivered by Chief. Eng. Anas Essam Khalil, Head of the Safety and Fire Department, entitled (Safety in Laboratories and locations: Risks and Challenges)

second session, headed by Prof. Dr. Rashid Taleb Rashid and rapporteur by Assist. Prof. Dr. Dhafer Saber Khalaf, which included two lectures: -

1st lecture delivered by Lec. Dr. Mustafa Adnan Yassin, entitled (Chemical Safety and Security).

2ed lecture given by the rapporteur of the chemistry branch, Assist. Lect. Thamer Adnan Abdullah, entitled (safety in chemical laboratories)

The symposium concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the lecturers and scientific committees.
