The Minister of Education hold a meeting with the University of Technology Council, monitors infrastructure projects, and opens a multi- storey garage
The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel-Saheb, held a meeting with the Council of the University of Technology and directed to develop green spaces and follow-up infrastructure projects, and opened a multi-storey garage.
He viewed a map of the university's internal projects and urged the development of green spaces, the investment of available resources, the maintenance of buildings and their continuous inspections according to deliberate schedules and programs.
In his speech during the meeting with the University Council, in the presence of UOT President, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ghabban, he directed to deal with the development file according to the available capabilities and to adapt to the economic, health and service conditions and challenges in order to achieve the objectives of the educational institution.
He thanks the councils of departments, colleges and faculty for their efforts and their relentless pursuit of upgrading the scientific reality and communicating with sober containers to achieve publication and raise the level of competition that brought Iraq to the forty-fifth place globally, stressing that scientific research is a fundamental pillar of the university that competes with its counterparts in the classifications responsible for assessing the quality of services, Stressing on preserving the privacy of the campus and dealing with academic edifices according to their usual missions, functions and usual procedures’.
He expressed his hope to overcome the repercussions of the current health crisis and to return to the integrated and face to face attendance for graduate and undergraduate studies, calling on lecturers, employees and students to take the vaccine and contribute to preserving the health of society and proceed with completing the requirements of the current academic year and preparing for the next one that begins next October.
He urged the independence of the university, reducing the time and effort, the exercise of the full scientific authority that granted for professors in the field of their specializations, calling on the departments and committees concerned to continue checking the inputs for applying to postgraduate studies and taking into account the necessary times and dates of the competitive exam.
The Minister of Education listened to the visions, observations and proposals of the University of Technology Council in the field of scientific research and teaching and the projects of opening up to the ministries and state institutions, describing the scientific plan adopted at the University of Technology as ambitious and praising the project to form the advisory council and stressing the need to proceed with development of qualitative specialties and attention to Iraqi magazines that bear a rich history of giving Scientific that qualifies it to compete with its counterparts in the region and the world.
