lec. Dr. Rana Riyadh Khalil from the Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology, responded to the invitation from the Department of Human Development / Ministry of Planning, to hold a consultation session specialized in women and the fifth goal of the sustainable development goals, in cooperation with the Women Empowerment Department in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), at the Mansour Melia Hotel on Cordoba Hall.

The consultative session was about the second voluntary report on sustainable development goals that Iraq will present this year at the high-level political forum.

The session was devoted to consultations with women's groups of leaders and the position of general manager from various bodies, academies, businesswomen and activists from civil society organizations.

Dr. Rana Riad had a prominent role in the discussions and shed light on the role of academic women in achieving the Agenda of 2030

It is worth noting that the United Nations Organization announced the goals of sustainable development in 2016 and a global agreement was signed for its implementation and evaluation of results in 2030, and Iraq is one of the signatories, which is as follows:

Poverty eradication, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, clean and affordable energy, decent work and economic growth, industry and innovation / infrastructure, reducing inequalities, cities and communities Sustainable, responsible consumption and production, climate change, life below water, life on land, peace, justice and strong institutions, partnerships to achieve the goals
